Honestly, my two best friends purchased Kat Von D’s shade & light palette before me and raved about it, but I just wasn’t interested. It was until recently where I changed my mind. Which I find absurd because… HOW CAN YOU NOT?!! All jokes aside – I know there are people out there who don’t care about what I’m writing about because frankly they don’t care about make up & thats okay!īUT for those of you who are make up lovers like me, these two products probably give you ‘makeup-gasms’ like no other! I actually just bought Kat Von D’s Light & Shade Palette a few weeks ago online from sephora’s online promotion for VIB’S! (It was a 20% off coupon – how could I pass that up?) Before purchasing I was using Anastasia Beverly Hills Powder Contour palette! If you don’t know about these two products then… you either don’t care about make up or don’t care about contouring. My apologizes to those who actually read my blog and were expecting this post (lol are there anybody out there though?) SO. I was suppose to post this on thanksgiving day and here we are … past midnight, posting late af!!! So I say get the palette if your not intimidated by contouring and highlighting.WOW. Like I said before, I love the Rimmel Sun shimmer bronzer in Sun Love because it’s such a good contour and highlighters can come from eyeshadows, shimmer blushes sometimes, cream shadow or specifically made highlighters. I love to contour and highlight but if you aren’t familiar with how to do that yet or it’s not something you do a lot I would buy just a basic contour powder and highlighter. It sells out quick I had to sign up for email notification from Sephora to get mine as soon as it was stocked.Īll in all I’m in love with it because it’s right up my alley. I’m glad though cause it was bothering me about the banana shade. I promise it was mislabeled I’m not crazy lol. So the colors are actually: Vanilla, Banana, and Sand (top row left to right) and Java, Fawn, Havana (bottom row L-R). ** Disclaimer: after writing this I was looking at the new refill pans only to realize that my kit had been labeled wrong in the names. That is also the same order on the swatches. It’s just as good as the rest just not something I use on myself.įrom left to right the colors are: Sand, Vanilla, Banana and starting left on the bottom is Fawn, Java, Havana. The only shade I didn’t say much on is the very first, it has a pink undertone kinda and that’s just not my jam. The first two contour shade are on the ashy/cooler side to me (which I like) and the last shade is more warmer so I use it to warm up my face. The contour colors are a little harder to blend than the rest but I used a fluffy brush today instead of the straight across 163 contour brush from MAC and had an easier time. All the colors are smooth and easy to work with. The highlight shade in it (banana) with shimmer is a great highlighter for the cheeks I was so impressed with it. Not that that was a bad thing cause it works good in my opinion and was probably just the right color. I immediately thought the center yellow color would be lighter and brighter but it was a little dull. So when I seen this little jewel I was like “Thank God someone done this!” So when I opened it up it was slightly smaller than I had imagined but not tiny and I felt like for $40 that it was still good sized. I’d always thought about getting the ones from BH Cosmetics or Coastal Scents but I didn’t like the blush colors that came so I decided against them. First thing is I can’t tell you how pumped I was to get a contour palette. I received this palette earlier this week and I’ve been using it everyday since I got it.
